Inaugural Brad Morris Holiday Classic set for Dec. 27 and 28

Pickaway County’s four public high school are coming together for the inaugural Brad Morris Holiday Classic, a celebration of high school basketball and community spirit. This county basketball classic, featuring Circleville, Logan Elm, Teays Valley and Westfall high schools, has been named to honor the remarkable legacy of Brad Morris.

The two-day event will take place Friday (Dec. 27) at Westfall and Saturday (Dec. 28) at Logan Elm. 

Morris, a Logan Elm graduate (Class of 2002), was a beloved sports journalist whose career spanned more than two decades. 

Known for his unwavering commitment to Pickaway County athletics, Morris tirelessly highlighted the achievements of student-athletes through his work with the Circleville Herald and as co-founder of the Sporting Pumpkin website. His heartfelt storytelling brought the accomplishments, challenges and dreams of local athletes to life, inspiring generations and elevating the community’s appreciation for high school sports.

In 2019, Morris’ dedication to excellence in sports journalism was recognized with the prestigious Associated Press Award for Best Sportswriter. Beyond his professional accolades, he was an advocate for youth, a champion of local sports and a community builder whose impact continues to resonate deeply.

The Brad Morris Holiday Classic is a fitting tribute to his passion and legacy. It serves as a reminder of his profound belief in the potential of Pickaway County’s youth and his enduring impact on the community he loved so deeply.

Westfall High School

• 3 p.m. — Teays Valley vs. Logan Elm (Varsity Girls)
• 4:30 p.m. — Teays Valley vs. Logan Elm (Varsity Boys)
• 6 p.m. — Westfall vs. Circleville (Varsity Girls)
• 7:30 p.m. — Westfall vs. Circleville (Varsity Boys)

Saturday, December 28
at Logan Elm High School

• 3 p.m. — Circleville vs. Teays Valley (Varsity Boys)
• 4:30 p.m. — Circleville vs. Teays Valley (Varsity Girls)
• 6 p.m. — Logan Elm vs. Westfall (Varsity Boys)
• 7:30 p.m. — Logan Elm vs. Westfall (Varsity Girls)

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. All ticket sales are cash only.
