SB – Teays Valley 18, Reynoldsburg 0 (5 innings)
ASHVILLE — Five pitchers combined on a no-hit shutout for Teays Valley as the Vikings beat visiting Reynoldsburg 18-0 Monday in five innings.
Alyvia Lawrentz, Avery Stratton, Sydney Brumfield, Ellie Powell and Marleigh Adkins each took an inning on the mound. The Raiders’ only baserunners came from being hit by a pitch, an error and a walk.
Lawrentz, Stratton, Powell and Adkins each recorded three strikeouts.
Ten different Vikings had a hit, and TV drew 10 walks in the game, as well.
SB — Amanda-Clearcreek 20, Hamilton Township 9
OBETZ — Amanda-Clearcreek outscored its host down the stretch to grab a 20-9 win at Hamilton Township Monday.
Both squads had seven-run third innings and HT had an 8-7 lead at that point.
But then AC scored two more in the fourth, six in the fifth, two in the sixth and capped the night with three runs in the top of the seventh.
Casadee Steinmetz had a big bat for the Aces as she accounted for a two-run homer in the fourth and a two-run homer in the seventh. She had five RBI on the night and scored four times.
Payton Singleton also had five RBI coming off three hits. Riley Black had a pair of hits to drive in three and she scored three times.
Makenna Singleton started for the Aces and went 2.2 innings allowing six hits, six walks, eight runs (four earned) and struck out six. Steinmetz got the win in relief as she went the final 4.1 innings allowing one unearned run, didn’t give up a hit and walked one while striking out five.
SB — Zane Trace 11, Westfall 5
KINNIKINNICK — A six-run third inning put Zane Trace up to stay in an 11-5 win over visiting Westfall.
The Pioneers scored those decisive runs with two outs in the inning. A hit batter loaded the bases which was followed by a walk and another hit batter to bring in two runs. A double from Haylynn Boggess-Pierce cleared the bases and she ended up at third. An error on a line drive brought her in to score making it 7-4 before the inning came to end.
Adrina Hicks started for the Mustangs and went 2.2 innings. She struck out five, walked five, allowed three hits and gave up seven runs (six earned). Riley Rigsby pitched 3.1 innings in relief. She struck out three, walked two, gave up two hits and four runs (one earned).
Hicks had two hits and three RBI while Anna Snyder had a pair of hits, including a double, with an RBI.
SB — Bloom-Carroll 18, Circleville 3 (5 innings)
CIRCLEVILLE — Bloom-Carroll jumped on host Circleville right out of the gate on the way to an 18-3 win in five innings Monday.
BC collected nine hits in the first inning – including two doubles, a triple and a two-run home run by Jaiden Sharrow – as the Bulldogs scored nine runs.
BC added three more in the second and made it 13-0 with Sharrow’s second home run in the third. A five-run top of the fifth gave BC an 18-0 lead.
Back-to-back doubles from Kaylee West and Rylee Starner accounted for Circleville’s three runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Audrey Cowdery pitched 1.1 innings for the Tigers. She struck out two, gave up nine hits and seven runs. Kayla Fleck pitched 3.2 innings. She struck out two, walked three, allowed 10 hits and 11 runs (seven earned).
BB — Teays Valley 2, Pickerington Central 1(9 innings)
ASHVILLE — Teays Valley went two extra innings before sending Pickerington Central home on the short end of a 2-1 score.
Central had scored in the top of the first and Teays Valley tied the game in the fifth as base runners were hard to come by Monday.
Trevor Hamilton led off the bottom of the ninth with a single and stole second. After a pop up for the first out, Central issued an intentional walk to Luke Smith to create a force-out situation. But a wild pitch allowed Hamilton and Smith to advance so Tyler Matthews was walked to load the bases.
That brought Brady Farmer to the plate. After fouling off a pitch, he hit a line drive to centerfield which allowed Hamilton to cross the plate with the winning run.
Brody Mann pitched seven innings of two-hit ball for the Vikings. He struck out seven and walked two. Luke Reese picked up the win as he pitched the final two hitless innings in relief. He struck out three.
BB — Circleville 14, Bloom-Carroll 4 (6 innngs)
CIRCLEVILLE — Circleville scored four times in the bottom of the sixth to put the mercy rule into effect in a 14-4 win over Bloom-Carroll Monday.
Each team scored three times in the first inning with Circleville adding two runs in the second and taking control with a five-run fourth.
The Tigers had 16 hits in the contest with Hudson Phalin collecting four and Trent Smith three.
Austin Gray had two hits, with the first being a three-run home run in the first inning.
Smith went the distance for the Tigers as he struck out seven, walked one, gave up five hits and four runs (three earned).
BB — Amanda-Clearcreek 9, Hamilton Township 4
OBETZ — Amanda-Clearcreek got an early lead and never trailed in beating host Hamilton Township 9-4 Monday.
A sacrifice fly from Andrew Miller in the second gave AC a 1-0 advantage and a two-run single by Nick Holland made it 3-0 after five. Gary Kemmerling and Breece Stone each had RBI singles in the sixth.
Tanner Affolter accounted for an RBI single in the seventh which was followed by a ground ball from Noah Chambers that allowed two runs to score on an error. Chambers later scored AC’s final run on a wild pitch.
Kemmerling started for the Aces and went 5.2 innings striking out three, walking three, gave up four hits and one earned run. Gage Crenshaw pitched an inning in relief striking out one, walking two, allowing two hits and giving up three runs (one earned). Dalton Dresbach came on and struck out the game’s final batter.
BB — Zane Trace 12, Westfall 3
KINNIKINNICK — A nine-run fourth inning helped Zane Trace to a 12-3 win over visiting Westfall Monday.
The Mustangs were leading 3-0 when ZT began its part of the fourth inning.
An error, a hit and a hit batter loaded the bases. Two walks and a single tied the game. Two more hit batters and a walk put ZT up 6-3 before the first out was recorded. Then Gunnar McCullough tripled to center to make it 9-3 Pioneers.
Noah Stonerock stared and went six batters into the fourth inning for the Mustangs. He struck out three, walked four, allowed two hits and gave up seven runs (six earned). Brenden Tuttle pitched three innings in relief as he struck out five, walked three, gave up tree hits and allowed five earned runs.
