Tiger SB walks off against LE; Mustangs sweep at Huntington; AC SB run-rules FU; Rain leads to several baseball delays

SB — Circleville 6, Logan Elm 5

CIRCLEVILLE — Logan Elm rallied in the top of the seventh, but Circleville answered back in its half of the inning to take a 6-5 victory Friday. 

With Circleville leading 4-1, the Braves loaded the bases on two hits and an error to start the seventh. The bases remained loaded after a fielder’s choice. A fielder’s choice by Maddie Adkins brought in a run for the Braves and the bases remained loaded. Morgan Arnold then doubled to left to clear the bases and put LE up 5-4. A popup and a strikeout closed the inning. 

Circleville’s half of the seventh started with a fly ball to center. 

Jenna Boring then singled, and Kayla Fleck tripled to left to tie the game. 
With a full count, Makaylee Holbrook singled to center to score Fleck and end the game.
Fleck went the distance for the Tigers. She struck out five, walked two, gave up eight hits and four earned runs.

Sadie Binkley was in the circle for Logan Elm. She struck out two, walked two, allowed 10 hits and four earned runs.

SB — Westfall 15, Huntington 1 (5 innings)

CHILLICOTHE — Westfall collected 15 hits and played error-free ball in beating Huntington 15-1 in five innings Friday afternoon. 

Anna Snyder and Kenzie Cook led the hit parade as they each connected on two-run home runs in the contest. Snyder had four hits on the night. 

Adrina Hicks went five innings in the circle striking out eight, walking one, gave up three hits and one earned run. 

SB — Amanda-Clearcreek 20, Fairfield Union 8 (5 innings)

LANCASTER — A 10-run fifth capped a 20-8 win for Amanda-Clearcreek at Fairfield Union Friday night. 

The Aces held a 10-6 lead entering the top of the fifth. AC took advantage of eight walks and collected four hits to add 10 runs to the scoreboard. 

Casadee Steinmetz went 3-4 with four RBI, Makenna Singleton collected two hits with four RBI and Payton Singleton had a hit and three RBI. 

Steinmetz started for the Aces and pitched three innings. She struck out three, walked five, gave up six hits and six earned runs. Makenna Singleton pitched the last two innings. She struck out one, walked one, allowed two hits and two unearned runs. 

BB — Westfall 6, Huntington 2 (6 innings)

CHILLICOTHE — A three-run double from Noah Stonerock put Westfall out in front on the way to a rain-shortened 6-2 win at Huntington Friday.

Stonerock’s hit came in fifth inning to give the Mustangs a 4-2 lead. 

A pair of wild pitches in the top of the sixth brought in two more runs for Westfall.

Brenden Tuttle started for Westfall and pitched two innings. He struck out three, walked two allowed one hit and two earned runs. Caleb Lowe pitched two scoreless innings, striking out one and walking four. Noah Stonerock pitched the final two innings striking out three and walking one. 

Stonerock had a pair of doubles and four RBI for the Mustangs.

Weather delays

Rain led to several area baseball games being delayed. 

Circleville has a 7-4 lead over visiting Logan Elm in the top of the fifth inning. The Braves were having a bit of rally putting three runs across in the inning before the game was suspended. 

With only eight hits, Teays Valley has scored 16 times in two innings to lead Groveport-Madison 16-0. TV had gone two batters into the bottom of the third when the game was suspended. 

Amanda-Clearcreek is trailing 4-3 at Fairfield Union. The Falcons have runners on the corners with two outs in the bottom of the fifth.
