Peloquin Invitational washed out with five races to go

CIRCLEVILLE — Weather washed out the Phil Peloquin Invitational at Logan Elm Friday night with five races left to be run. 

Unofficially, Logan Elm was in the lead in the boys meet with 97 points and Liberty Union was second with 78. Circleville, unofficially, had 112 points to lead the girls with Logan Elm second with 93.2.

Among the meet highlights were Circleville’s Lamont Holloway and Liam McConnell finishing first and second in the discus. Circleville’s Auri Travis won the shot put with Amanda-Clearcreek’s Peter Smith second. AC’s Colton Westhoven won the high jump. 

LE’s Michael Bock took the 100-meter dash. In the 400 meters, Westfall’s Josh Trapp took first and LE’s Dane Liggins was second.

Logan Elm’s boys won the 4×100-meter relay and 4×800-meter relay with Westfall taking first in the 4×200-meter. 

In the girls’ meet, Circleville’s Taegan Retherford and Madison Bensonhaver finished 1-2 in the shot put. Logan Elm’s Marlo Smith and Maggie Wilson went 1-2 in the discus. 

Circleville’s Sydney Lattimer won the long jump while LE’s Karina Pantoja won the high jump with Circleville’s Mya Nardi taking second. 

Circleville’s Lattimer won the 100 meters with the 400-meter title going to Amanda-Clearcreek’s Gavynn Sowers with Bella Morningstar from CHS second.

Circleville’s Maddux Bigam was 26 seconds faster than her closest competitor in winning the 1,600 meters. 

Circleville’s Cora Wilson won the 100-meter hurdles with AC’s Sam Buckley and Kinsely Berger taking the next two spots. 

Circleville’s girls took the top spots in the 4×100 and 4×200 relays with Logan Elm winning the 4×800.

Weather washed out the 300-meter hurdles, 800-meter run, 200-meter dash, 3,200-meter run and 1,600-meter relay. The boys’ pole vault competition also was down to its final competitors but was unable to be completed.
