Vikings, Braves hit the course

The Teays Valley girls finished third out of nine teams on Saturday at the Newark Catholic Invitational.
Just five points separated champion Bishop Watterson (60) from Bishop Hartley (64) and the Vikings (65).
Top runners for the Vikings included Megan Bush (fifth, 20:57.52); Karoline Pees (ninth, 22:04.81); Brooke Guisinger (10th, 22:13.59); Lindsey Tripplett (15th, 22:41.25) and Payton Sayre (32nd, 24:00.85).
The Teays Valley boys finished fifth out of 10 schools at the Newark Catholic Invitational.
Leading runners for the Vikings included Kyle Dennis (seventh, 17:53.02); Zach Goldsmith (10th, 18:07.12); Carson Weiss (15th, 18:30.33); Joey Williams (35th, 19:31.00) and Chase Gaynor (39th, 19:44.56).

The Logan Elm boys finished sixth in their race group at the Pickerington North Classic.
Top runners for the Braves included Ian Shaeffer (18th, 18:29.8); Brock Evans (24th, 18:57.6); Drew Tomlinson (30th, 19:23.4); Trace Smith (71st, 21:04.0) and Jason Springer (73rd, 21:07.0).
The Logan Elm girls finished 10th in their group race at the Pickerington North Classic.
Running for the Braves were Tayla Tootle (52nd, 24:56.7); Kaleigh Spires (63rd, 26:11.8); Karlee Thomas (80th, 27:39.2); Brooklyn Bryant (93rd, 28:34.7) and Paige Smith (114th, 32:07.0).
The event was run in several races due to Ohio Department of Health guidelines that limit a race to a maximum of 150 runners.
