Circleville sophomore Maddux Bigam led Pickaway County runners on Wednesday by taking 16th out of 223 runners at the Sheridan Backwoods Festival Two-Mile Race.
Bigam turned in a time of 12:10.2 that included an average mile of 6:05.1.
Circleville didn’t have enough runners to qualify for a team score. Also running for the Tigers were Kaylyn Milliron (134th, 15:00.1) and Meg Warner (135th, 15:00.5).
Granville won the 21-school race with a team score of 28, followed by Pickerington Central (150) and Fairfield Union (156).
Teays Valley finished eighth with a team score of 206.
Leading runners for the Vikings included Lindsey Triplett (19th, 12:13.6); Evie Layton (28th, 12:37.1); Kate Charter (35th, 12:49.0); Jenna Lathem (40th, 12:54.2) and Claire Krouse (120th, 14:27.6).


Logan Elm placed 14th with a team tally of 366.
Top runners for the Braves were Vera Henderly (52nd, 13:02.4); Kinley Whited (80th, 13:36.1); Camryn Ross (86th, 13:49.4); Tayla Tootle (98th, 13:58.9) and Chloe Anderson (99th, 13:59.2).
Fairfield Union topped the 26-team boys field with a team score of 75, followed by Granville (85) and Sheridan (100).
Teays Valley finished eighth with a team tally of 229.
Leading runners for the Vikings were Jerry O’Dell (25th, 10:24.8); Thomas McPeek (32nd, 10:34.8); Connor Dean (45th, 10:45.7); Rueger Shrewsberry (57th, 10:57.0) and Conner Davis (81st, 11:11.1).


Circleville came in 20th with a team score of 604.
Top runners for the Tigers were Sterlin Mullins (78th, 11:09.8); Zach Buitendorp (133rd, 11:41.1); Preston Hulse (141st, 11:48.4); Brandon Patrick (172nd, 12:16.5) and Chip Stanley (219th, 13:10.2).
Logan Elm finished 25th with a team tally of 649.
