The Vikings hosted Fairfield Union Monday evening in a Mid-State League Buckeye Division girls soccer matchup. Teays Valley battled hard throughout much of the first half behind hard work from its midfield and solid defending. Brooke Jacob had a look on goal but could not capitalize as the score stood at 0-0 at the half.
Midway through the second half the Falcons, who came into the match undefeated in the league, earned three consecutive corner kicks. TV was able to clear the first two corner kicks but Fairfield Union finally finished the third attempt after a skirmish near the endline.
The Vikings continued to battle hard to the end but the final would stand at 1-0. Annaleigh Jett collected several great saves in goal for the Vikings.
In JV action the Vikings fell 6-0 to Fairfield Union.
