Six Pickaway County girls golfers advanced through the first round of the postseason.
Westfall finished third in a Division II Southeast District sectional on Monday held at Jaycees Golf Course outside of Chillicothe.
Crooksville won the 18-school sectional with 359, followed by Sheridan (376) and the Mustangs (378). The top three teams advanced to the district tournament.
Maddi Shoults finished tied for third overall in the field with Adena’s Sydney Ater, as both golfers turned in a scorecard of 80.
Emily Cook followed Shoults with an 86, Maddie Cook tallied 92 and Alexa Oney fired a round of 120. Also playing for Westfall was Skyann Rogers (124).
Crooksville’s Riley McKenzie was the sectional medalist with a round of 75 and Circleville freshman Elaina Seeley followed a stroke behind at 76 to take second and qualify as an individual for the district tournament.
Seeley’s round was the lowest score in program history and she’s also the first golfer in program history to advance to district.
Circleville as a team finished fourth with 398.
Izzy Seeley had 94, Morgan Griffith tallied 113 and Lexy Sharp shot 115. Also playing for CHS was Rae Johnson with 138.
Logan Elm was 13th with 502.
Olivia Huffman turned in a scorecard of 88, Kelsey Whittington shot 125, Ellie Kidd had 126 and Karlie Gray posted a round of 163.
The district tournament is scheduled for Oct. 6 at the Pickaway Country Club, where the district champion and top golfer not on the winning team advances to the state tournament.
