Peter Brockman was in command from start to finish on Saturday, throwing a two-hitter that sent Amanda-Clearcreek to an 11-1 win over Athens in a five-inning game held at VA Memorial Stadium.
Brockman allowed an unearned run, walked a pair of batters and punched out nine Bulldogs.
The Aces opened the blustery afternoon by staking Brockman to a 4-0 lead.
Leland Riley and Brockman both reached via error, with Riley scoring on the third Athens error of the inning.
After a single by Bryton Carruthers, Brody Elder singled in Brockman to put the Aces ahead 2-0.
Brady Holbrook followed with a two-run single that knocked in both Carruthers and Elder.
Amanda-Clearcreek extended its lead to 6-0 after two and 9-0 after three innings of play.
Tanner Affolter was 2-for-2 and scored three times, Holbrook went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored, Brodie Martin drove in a pair of runs and Blayne Barker scored twice for the Aces (1-2), who open Mid-State League Buckeye Division play on Monday at Teays Valley.

Logan Elm 5
Logan Elm scored the final three runs of a non-league game on Saturday and gave state-ranked Unioto all it wanted before falling 6-5 in a non-league game.
The Braves led 2-1 entering the fifth, but the visiting Shermans scored twice in the inning and three more times in the sixth go ahead 6-4. Logan Elm responded with a run in its half of the six and scored two more times in the seventh.
Blayton Reid went 2-for-3 and scored and Kyle Rine singled, drove in a run and scored for the Braves (1-4), who resume MSL-Buckeye action on Monday when they travel to Hamilton Township.

Circleville 1
Defending district champion Washington Court House walked off in the bottom of the seventh inning on Saturday to edge Circleville 2-1 at VA Memorial Stadium.
Circleville scored its run in the fifth when Scott Moats reached on an infield single that knocked in Parker Kidwell.
Moats went 2-for-3 for the Tigers (2-2), who open MSL-Buckeye play on Monday when they host Fairfield Union.
