WILLIAMSPORT — Westfall has earned its third straight trip to the girls state championships after outclassing the competition in the Southeast District Division II tournament at Crown Hill Tuesday.
The Mustangs had a team score of 359 while West Union was 60 strokes behind at 419 to place second and earn the other spot awarded from the tournament. Logan Elm was sixth with a score of 445.
All four of Westfall’s scoring players finished in the top eight led by district medalist Paige Weiss, who had a 77.

Michelle Pickett was tied for sixth overall with a 92, while Caroline Sever and Marianna Packer tied for eighth with rounds of 95. Kathryn Lockhart was 35th overall with a round of 115 for the Mustangs.
Logan Elm was led by Lily Slusher who was 17th with a round of 102. Mallory Stevens was 19th with a 104, Mallory Stevens was 19th with a 105, Addison Lester was 21st with a 105 and Jessica Fike rounded out the scoring with a 134. Anna Fike had a 144 for LE.
Zane Trace freshman Rosella Lattavo was second overall with a round of 80 and Federal Hocking senior Addison Jackson was third with a round of 87. They both qualified to the state tournament as individuals.
It will be the Mustangs’ fifth trip to the state championships in the last six years and seventh overall. What will be different this year is the ladies will be playing at Firestone Country Club in Akron instead of Ohio State’s Gray Course, and the championship tournament will take place on Sunday, Oct. 13, and Monday, Oct. 14.
Westfall previously qualified for the state tournament in 2011, 2012, 2019, 2020, 2022 and 2023.
