Tigers eighth in district championship

ZANESVILLE — Circleville wrapped up the golf season Wednesday taking eighth at the East District Division 1 championship.

Dover won the event at EagleSticks Golf Club with a score of 367. 

Unioto finished second with a 368, but only one team earned a berth in next week’s state tournament.

Circleville finished eighth with a team 425.

Dover senior Mya Downing was the match medalist with a 76.

Athens junior Ellie Beck-Aden finished second with a round of 77 and earns a spot in the state tournament as an individual. 

Minerva freshman Peyton Beaumariage took third with an 80.

Circleville junior Isabelle Perini tied Jackson junior Aubrey Arnold for fourth with an 80. 

Circleville’s Alyssa Sharp tied for 21st with a 101, Allie Mullins was 41st with a 119, Ava Justice was 45th with a 122 and Aleigh Michael was 46th with a 123.

Dover and Beck-Adena will play Monday and Tuesday at NCR Country Club in Kettering.

Team scores (top team advances to state tournament): Dover 367, Unioto 368, New Philadelphia 388, Marietta 399, Minerva 400, Logan 404, Jackson 418, Circleville 425.
