The weekend saw 45 local athletes qualify for district wrestling tournaments, with 10 claiming sectional titles.
Logan Elm led the way with 12 wrestlers advancing as the Braves won their sectional and Teays Valley had nine boys and seven girls advance to action this coming weekend.
Westfall has nine boys and one girl advancing with four wrestlers from Circleville moving on and three from Amanda-Clearcreek. (Click the header for each sectional to access complete results.)
Southeast District Division II Sectional 1 at Gallia Academy
GALLIPOLIS — All 12 wrestlers in action Saturday for Logan Elm qualified to the district tournament at Steubenville High School and earned the team 196 points to take the sectional team championship.
Sheridan was second with 167 points and Athens was third with 141.5.
Three Braves won three individual titles.

Dawsen Hudson (42-2) won a 7-1 decision over Sheridan’s Cash Owen to claim the 113-pound title.
Gavin Hoover (47-1) recorded a tech fall (17-0) over Jackson’s Lukas Brown in taking the 132-pound title.
Heavyweight Conner Green (35-8) won a 7-4 decision in sudden death overtime to win his weight class over previously unbeaten Grant Kennedy of Jackson.

Cayden McFarland (106) and Jeffrey Thompson (215) each placed second.
Jude Palmer (120), Blaine Holzschuh (126), David Little (138), Bryson Parish (150) and Bryce Perkins (190) each placed third.
Taking fourth were Nehemiah Hess (144) and Cooper Disbennett (157).
Logan Elm will be at the Steubenville District Friday with wrestling starting at 3:30 p.m.

Central District Division I Sectional at Watkins Memorial
PATASKALA — Teays Valley advanced nine wrestlers out of the Division I Watkins Memorial sectional Saturday and finished second as a team with 208.5 points.
Olentangy Berlin won the weekend with 254.5 points.
The Vikings had three individuals claim titles Saturday.
John Todhunter (25-6) pinned Nolan Perry from Watkins Memorial in 1:48 to win at 113 pounds.
Josh Zimmer (29-2) pinned Berlin’s Zayne Cassidy in 5:48 to win the 120-pound title.
Aiden Kennedy (24-6) won a 3-0 decision in the 175-pound finals over Grove City’s Matt Palmer.
Trevor Bridges (106), Carson Hix (132), Peter Graham (190) and Tristian Graham (285) each finished second.
Andrew Liddell (150) and Rhett Turner (157) each placed fourth.
The Vikings advance to the district meet at Hilliard Darby where wrestling begins at 4 p.m. Friday.
Southeast District Division II Sectional 2 at Gallia Academy
GALLIPOLIS — Miami Trace had five individual champions on the way to winning its sectional with 230.5 points while New Lexington was second with 212.
Westfall was third with 157.5 and Circleville was seventh with 71.5.
The Mustangs had four wrestlers finish as sectional runners-up in their weight classes.

Dax Tanner (113), Bryson Campfield (126), John Holderby (190) and Wes Moats (215) each took second.
Brady Speakman (120), Wyatt Ward (144), Eli Wright (175) and Russ Colahan (285) each took third and Eli McPeak was fourth at 150.
Circleville has four wrestlers moving on led by Caihden Morgan who placed second as a heavyweight.
Drace Johnson was third at 106 pounds, Kevin Downing was fourth at 113 and Kaiden Boyer was fourth at 157.
The Mustangs and Tigers are headed to the district tournament at Steubenville High School where action begins Friday afternoon at 3:30.

Central District Division III Sectional at Ridgedale
MORRAL — Amanda-Clearcreek had two sectional champions and a third wrestler advance as the Aces competed at the Central District Division III sectional at Ridgedale High School Saturday.
Elgin won the team title with 232 points and Mechanicsburg was second with 201. AC was ninth with 93.5.
Reese Marshall (26-3) had a pin and major decision before beating Centerburg’s Cory Climer 14-8 to win the 113-pound championship.
Bodie Martin (38-0) had a pin and two tech falls before winning a 4-2 decision over Treven Angus from Northridge to take the 150-pound title.
Silas Hoffman was fourth at 165 pounds.
Central District Sectional at Marysville
MARYSVILLE — Freshman Rayne Dowdy led the Teays Valley contingent with the 145-pound championship at the Marysville Sectional.
While Marysville won the team title with 296 points, the Vikings were second at 150.5.
Amanda-Clearcreek was 18th with 12 points.
Dowdy began her tournament with a second-round pin, followed it with a tech fall in the semifinals and pinned Marysville’s Andrea Mendez in 1:25 to claim the title.
Ayla Kennedy (110) and Sky Zoelick (135) each took second.
Madi Hamilton was third at 140.
Brooklyn Gildner (100), Josephine Bowerman (115) and Brianna Grambo (120) each finished fourth in their weight classes.
Amanda-Clearcreek had four wrestlers competing, but none qualified to next week’s district tournament.
The seven Vikings advance to the district tournament at Big Walnut High School Sunday.
Southeast District Sectional at Gallia Academy
GALLIPOLIS — Westfall had a sectional champion and Circleville two alternates at the girls sectional held at Gallia Academy High School Sunday.
Savannah Holderby (19-0) pinned her opponents in 30 seconds, 1:21 and 51 seconds to win the 145-pound championship.
Circleville’s Makaylee Holbrook (105) and Summer Blair (115) placed fifth to be alternates for the district tournament.
Jackson won the team title with 156.5 points with Warren second at 141 and Washington Court House third at 126.
Holderby advances to the district tournament at Big Walnut High School Sunday.
