PIKETON — Unioto’s girls easily won their sixth straight SVC track and field championship Friday night while the Shermans’ boys squad won for the fourth time in six years.
Unioto’s girls won 10 events in amassing 198.5 team points while Adena was second with 122.5. Westfall was fifth with 55 points.
In the boys meet, Unioto won seven events in scoring 172 points. Zane Trace was second with 144. Westfall placed fifth with 63.
The Mustangs grabbed two titles in the boys’ championship.
Josh Trapp won the 800 meters in a time of 2:01.59 with Southeastern’s Gage Renison second at 2:05.80.

The Westfall senior joined with fellow seniors Brody Williams and Tyler Yates along with junior Quinn Eberly in setting a new SVC record in the 1,600-meter relay. The squad ran the four laps in 3:28.95. Unioto was second in 3:40.55.
On the girls’ side, Grace McBee was one of Unioto’s top performers as the senior won individual titles in the long jump and 100 meters and was part of the winning 400-meter and 800-meter relay squads.
Along with Westfall’s record-setting win in the 1,600-meter relay, two other records fell in the boys’ meet and they were relays as well.
Unioto’s Cameron Jones, Tanner Beam, Levi Beam and Trevin Tuttle won the 400-meter relay in a record time of 43.98 seconds.
Zane Trace’s Aaden Dunn, Aaden Gigley, Levi Marchall and Peyton Dotson won the 800-meter relay in a record time of 1:32.42.
