CHS girls win Court House Invitational

The Circleville girls track and field team dominated the relays on Friday and set a new meet record on its way to winning the Washington Court House Invitational.

Circleville topped the 10-school field with 128.5 points, followed by the host Blue Lions (118) and McClain (116).

The 3200-relay ream of Maddux Bigam, Morgan Blakeman, Ava Justice and Ellie Patrick won in 10:40.88 and the 400-relay squad of Sydney Lattimer, Isabelle Perini, Payton Ford and Faith Yancey prevailed in 51.68.

The 1600-relay team of Yancey, Blakeman, Patrick and Bigam also struck gold in 4:19.13.

The 800-relay team of Emma Groff, Kaylin Mankin, Bella Morningstar and Mya Nardi finished third in 1:56.69.

Yancey set a new meet record in the 200 in 26.01 and also won the 100 in 12.69.

Bigam topped the 1600 in 5:31.73 and was second in the 800 in 2:31.95.

Circleville’s Maddux Bigam finished first in two relays and the 1600.

Lattimer finished second in the long jump at 15-05.50 feet.

Taegan Retherford was third in the shot put at 29-feet and Groff took third in the pole vault at 8-06 feet.

Logan Elm finished fifth with 68.5 points.

Senior Tayla Tootle set a new meet record in the pole vault at 12-06 feet, winning the competition by 42 inches.

Vera Henderly was second in the 1600 in 5:49.94 and Kinley Whited was third in the 2000 in 8:52.60.

Zane Trace topped the 10-school boys field with 109.5 points, followed by Cedarville (102.5) and London (92.5).

Logan Elm finished fifth with 84 points.

Nate Edge won the 110 hurdles in 16.80 and was third in the high jump at 5-08 feet.

Luke Thompson was second in the pole vault at 11-06 feet.

Circleville was ninth with 30 points.

Zach Buitendorp won the pole vault at 12-06 feet and teammate Christian Kellough was third in 11-feet.

The 800-relay team of Joe Streitenberger, Jake Yancey, Daniel Cutliff and Carson Vangundy finished third in 1:36.58.

Circleville and Logan Elm travel to Westfall on Tuesday for the Pickaway County championships.
