Westfall takes SVC title
McDERMOTT — Westfall completed a season-long sweep of the SVC Thursday winning the seventh and eight league golf matches at the Portsmouth Elks Country Club.
The Mustangs were 15 shots better than Piketon in SVC7 on the front nine at the course and nipped Unioto by three shots in SVC8 on the back nine.
Westfall’s Brendan Biegler was medalist on the front nine with a 37. Huntington’s Tucker Taylor was runner-up with a 38.
Taylor was the medalist on the back nine as he shot a 36.
Biegler and teammate Colton Brungarth, along with Unioto’s Keegan Snyder, tied for runner-up as each shot a 41.

Bulldogs win MSL title
GRANVILLE — Bloom-Carroll completed a near-perfect run through the Mid-State League’s Buckeye Division Thursday as it won the fourth and final league golf matchup by 31 shots over Circleville at Denison Golf Club.
The Bulldogs shot a team 324 while Circleville shot a 355.
Other than a one-shot loss to Logan Elm in the first MSL match, BC came out on top in the other three to win the league with a 19-1 record. Fairfield Union finished second in the league at 13-7. Logan Elm was third, Circleville was fourth and Amanda-Clearcreek was fifth.
BC’s Carter Price was the match medalist with a 77 Thursday and earned MSL Player of the Year honors.
Circleville’s Reid Seimetz, FU’s Isaiah Delong and BC’s Nic Conrad shared runner-up with rounds of 80.
